The legal deadlock between CINE 1 Studios and the T-Series over Animal is finally resolved. CINE 1 Studios initiated the courtroom drama to postpone the movie’s OTT launch. It alleged contract breaches by the T-Series, including issues of equal ownership and certain rights. The disputes were over an unauthorized movie release and production expenditures. It also included promotional strategies and a perceived lack of consultation.
CINE 1 Studios also discussed a history of financial malpractice by the T-Series. T-Series was accused of withholding revenue figures and hiding production costs. T-Series responded to these accusations by claiming that CINE1 had hidden a document of the waiver of film rights worth INR2.2 crore. The tables turned on 22 January as top lawyers acting for both production giants confirmed a settlement.
